What your dog wants you to know...

1. My life is likely to last 8 to 14 years. Any separation from you will be painful: remember that before you get me....

2. Give me a hot second to understand what it is you want from me!

3. Please trust me and love me and care for me.

4. Do not be angry at me for long....I can't stand it!!

5. You have your work, your hobbies, your friends and your family. I only have you.

6. Talk to me often, I love to hear your voice.

7. Be conscious that whatever way you treat me, I will never forget.

8. I have sharp teeth that could easily hurt you, but I choose not to bite you because I love you.

9. Before you scold me for not reacting as I should, ask yourself if I might not be getting the right food, or I'm tired, or my heart is getting old and weak.

10. Take care of me when I get old. Don't say: “I can't bear to watch”. Everything is easier for me if you are there....even when we say our final goodbye.....

Adoption - know your facts. Seniors

When adopting a senior pet consider the following:

  • Ask about health and special needs.
  • Consider your budget as older pets will need more Vet visits.
  • Be patient with them as they will need time to adjust.
  • Be prepared for a short amount of time with them.

Coconut oil for your puppy!?!

Coconut can heal skin ailments, improve digestive health, and boost the immune systems and this doesn't just apply to humans!

Doggy Coconut oil

    HOORAY!

So what can you do for your pet?

Add coconut oil to your pets food to help improve their digestion, promote a healthy coat, increase energy, reduce body odor and bad breath and lesson symptoms of inflammatory bowel disease. Start by introducing 1/4 a teaspoon initially and increase to a full teaspoon for dogs up to 10 pounds. Feed as a treat or mix in with food.

Rub it into their skin will minimize itchy, dry skin, eczema, reduce skin allergies, and fungal infections, and help in healing wounds. Bonus will be smooth skin and a soft, shiny coat. If your pet has dry paw pads, or nose you can apply it here too. OR if you just want to give your pet a luxurious mask then massage a coat of coconut oil in, leave for 5 mins (or however long your pet will stand still for you!) and shampoo out.

    Animals and Restaurants

So yesterday I was in a restaurant in NYC in Soho to be precise and once the kitchen closed the restaurant/bar allowed two tiny puppies to be brought in by their owners for cuddles. Gorgeous lil puppies they were but it got me thinking - What IS the Law on this and should it change?
